If you already have SQL Server, then please skip to the next section.
If not, then it would be beneficial if you could install it.
If you have Windows 10 or Windows 8 with 64-bit Windows (this will be most PCs), then in the next 3 videos we will install SQL Server 2017/2019 Developer Edition for Windows 8 and Windows 10. This is previously a $200 value - for free! (Alternatively, you can install SQL Server 2016 - the installation guide starts in the 6th-to-last video on this course.) The URL I give on in the next video is for SQL Server 2017. If you want SQL Server 2019, please go to https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/sql-server/sql-server-2019 . I would recommend downloading the Developer edition.
If, however, you have Windows 7 or Windows Vista, then SQL Server 2017 Developer will not install on your computer. Instead, you will need SQL Server 2014 Developer. If this is the case, then please watch the last 2 videos in this course, which shows you have to download and install it - and then go back to video 6, so you can install SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).
By the way, if you have a Mac, SQL Server will not run directly on a Mac. If you have Parallel Desktop, then you can install Windows on that, and run SQL Server within it - this is the system I use.
